Welcome to Labour's "Vibrant New Britain"...

At least he knows what a woman is.
13
Bring back Paddy Pantsdown! Yes: I know he's dead, but he' still got more charisma than this bellend.
12
Since the policies of the three "main" parties are virtually indistinguishable, I suggest that voters of all ages vote Reform UK if they want any kind of future.

Starmer's the one who's taken an innocuous (and correct... ) statement and "politicised" it. What a vile and utterly inappropriate example of opportunism.
7
@shaunpowelluk There is no connection between Sunak's (correct...) statement and Starmer's reply. You (like Starmer) are trying very hard to whip up "controversy" and "outrage" where there is none. The fact that Starmer has to employ cheap tricks of this nature speaks volumes about the flimsiness of his ideology, integrity and fitness to lead a political party. God help us when he becomes PM.
7
What "bigotry"?
6
If only our border forces were "given more resource" to vet and restrict the number of undesirable people coming here...
6
@sgtKRILLEX Not racially motivated.
6
Sunak has nothing to apologise for. Starmer's the one who's trying very hard to turn this into an "issue" where none exists.
6
To be fair, Sunak's no great shakes either...

So sad reading all the Lefty comments here. You people are still under the delusion that Labour are somehow going to be "better" than the Tories. Daaaaaamn, you're in for a nasty shock...
4
The "Far Right" is a tiny minority. The reason these protests are so widespread are because they're nothing to do with the "Far Right"...this is the PEOPLE OF BRITAIN rising up in anger.
3
By "xenophobic", I assume you mean "not prepared to have their country overrun by illegal immigrants, and wish to uphold the democratically-arrived-at result of Brexit referendum"? If you want "intolerance" to whine at, I suggest you pay closer scrutiny to the ranks of whatever vile ideology it is that YOU adhere to.
2
Jesus...we've got 5 more years of people who don't toe the line being described as "Far Right" by pig ignorant journalists and politicians...Don't say Reform UK didn't warn you...
2
Can someone at Channel 4 News actually explain how the so-called "Far Right" is involved? Who are they? How are they different from everyday citizens outraged by the murder of three innocent little girls? Contrary to what you believe, we out here in "knuckle-dragger land" aren't total morons.
2
So large gatherings of predominantly white people is now "grounds enough" for Channel 4 News to declare "Far Right" involvement? Shame on you: this is low even by your undemanding standards...
2
"Why's the UK economy flatlining?" Surely it's obvious: because it's based on insubstantial nonsense like "performing arts", "hospitality", "the racism/grievance/outrage litigation industry" and "financial services", and does absolutely nothing of tangible value to human existence. The sooner primary and secondary industries are revitalised, the sooner the UK becomes a solid, resilient economy.
2
Let's just blame the "Brexit Bogeyman" and pretend that it's nothing to do with the economic paralysis of lockdown and furlough, or the fact that militant unions are indulging in a bit of political agitation to further their hard-left agenda.
2
@shaunpowelluk You're misconstruing my remarks in order to try and reaffirm your own prejudices. I have nothing whatsoever against trans people...what I'm disgusted by is Starmer's extremely low blow of trying to make political capital out of a non-issue. Did he ask Brianna Ghey's mother whether she wanted to be a "victim"? Of course he didn't...he used her a political football, and now he's trying to deflect attention away from his gaffe by trying to make out that Sunak said something "offensive". You might not hold Starmer culpable, but the public will.
2
@spicyfiction4429 No "psychologist", or biologist, or geneticist or any other practitioner of serious science would agree with him. The only people that would are the adherents of the pseudoscience of "gender theory", those with a with a political agenda to promote the trans ideology or those who profit financially from it. You're either remarkably naive about the nature of directed scientific research or have the intelligence and experience of a 14 year old.
1
@cliffedge546 Unfortunately, Blairism has been in in power since 1997, not "a couple of weeks"...
1
@cliffedge546 I don't "think" the Tories were Blairite. They were (and still are) Blairite. ...pro-EU, pro-immigration, soft on law and order, pandering to woke, pandering to minorities, lavish international virtue signalling vanity projects...the evidence is there for all to see.
1
@spicyfiction4429 Are you actually certifiably delusional? No... really... In what way was Sunak's remark "hateful"? Please explain...I'd be fascinated to know just how your warped, resentful mind works. Starmer demonised himself by his extremely clumsy and entirely inappropriate attempt to make political capital out of a non-issue. He should be the one to be apologising to Mrs Ghey, not Sunak. You're just doing the usual kind of "professional victim" whining associated with the "woke" left, and as such it's very hard to take you seriously. I have plenty of human decency. I will admit to have unlimited contempt for people of your ilk, however.
1
@dragonfly6908 I can't argue with that.
1
@spicyfiction4429 "Publicly calling" for an apology is not the same thing "the public" calling for an apology. You're about the only person still arguing the toss on this point...the rest of the world has moved on. So much for the "public outcry"... The fact that Sunak knew who was in the public gallery is irrelevant... You're still not "getting it", are you? All Sunak said is that Starmer couldn't correctly define a woman...which he can't. What's this got to do with Brianna Ghey's mother or her deceased son? Again, you're spouting on about "transphobia". Where is this "transphobia"? Implying that a man who pretends to be a woman ISN'T in fact a woman is in no way "transphobic". It's just a fact... ...which is why I'd be very careful about making recourse to "science". "Trans" has no basis in scientific fact whatsoever.

...And I'm sure Labour will be much better...
1
@_____alyptic Personally, I consider the current government to be "26 years of Blairism". There's very little "Tory" about the people running the show at the moment.
1
@finalcut612 There's nothing "Tory" about the current government: they're essentially a "Blairite" continuation party... ...this will become very apparent when Labour get in and absolutely nothing of substance changes. Vote ReformUK!
1
@LWQ15881 You can't blame Brexit on the Tories (much as you might like to try). Cameron was a remoaner, and arrogantly assumed that voting "remain" would be a shoo-in. The People spoke when it came to Brexit. Get over it.
1
@stephenfowlie742 26 years of Blairite chaos have got us into our current mess. Had we actually had a PROPER Tory government (rather than the farcical "New Labour Lite" nonsense that we currently have) since 2010, I've no doubt we'd be in a lot better shape than we are now. When Labour get in at the next election, what do you imagine they're going to do differently from the current (nominally...) Conservative government? There's nothing of substance to choose between the two "main" parties, for the simple reason that they're essentially the same party: Blairite. Vote ReformUK for a real difference!
