  2. Stocks are regarded as a slice of ownership in a company. Bitcoin is currency that is not issued by a corporation. I hold bitcoin (since 2013) as a means of retaining value, instead of losing buying power holding currency issued by corporations or govt departments. I also occasionally use bitcoin to buy phones, gadgets, accommodation, or to tip others online for posting material I appreciate.
