As a man, I don't ever recall feeling safe at night on the streets. I never wear earplugs to listen to music when out like that.

@muurrarium9460 I've seen women out alone in certain places at night within the city of Sydney. As a man, I would not be in the same position as some of them. It is that simple. Some of them are young fit women with beautiful figures. These are the most desirable human beings on this planet, and naturally attract the most eyes and attention. It is not their fault that they are the most desirable human beings. It is part of nature.

@billsimms2511 I live in Sydney, Australia. You need to watch your back. Yes, my area is rougher than most. There are plenty of thugs about Sydney. I've been randomly attacked before. If I see a woman walking alone in the dark, I back away and give her space. I don't walk at night with head phones in. I stay vigilant. My apartment block was subject to an attempted home invasion a month ago.
