@horrificabomination They have already made the usual claim of "safe and effective" despite have no idea if there are long term side effects. That is why companies like Astrazeneca seek to be four years liability free. They cover themselves whilst telling the public "safe".

@jmoa5758 People who question vaccines and may refuse them over concerns are generally well educated. I've seen a doctor try to talk a patient out of a vaccine due to safety concerns.

Paul Offit also expressed concerns over vaccine safety if the process is rushed. We have vaccine manufacturers seeking immunity from liability over vaccine injuries. Four years in the case of AstraZeneca. Yet, these people and companies are immune from the term "anti-vax", despite various statements made. What we have learned this year, is that a new type of vaccine (mRNA) can go under trials for just two months and be deemed 'safe and effective'. Which should make one question why vaccine manufacturers bothered with prior animal trials and longer human trial periods in the past. The scientific goal posts have dramatically changed in 2020.

@oldbatwit5102 Well, now I know that for decades the scientists had it all wrong. No animal trials are required, and only two months of human trials are required to decide whether a new type of vaccine is safe and effective. I didn't shift the goal posts. The pharmaceutical companies just did. "youtube, facebook, and twitter" don't have a say in the matter.

@EvilOmelette I'm not sure what you are talking about. "Goalposts" refers to the 2 months period to evaluate safety and effectiveness of a new mRNA vaccine experiment vs at least a year for other vaccines to get evaluated.
