  2.  @OldDistantHermit  Weather patterns and droughts trend. The heatwave spikes of the 1930s that can be seen America's EPA heatwave chart drove hundreds of thousands of people (as I recall) off their farmland during The Dustbowl Era. Fortunately we have not had a repeat of those years. Historically, California has apparently had droughts lasting centuries. We are so lucky to live in a time of great weather.
