Atmospheric C02 is life giving goodness. The higher the better. The climate always changes and is fantastic right now. Trees used to grow much closer to the north pole. Get a grip people.

@williammeek4078 "The claim is the minerals don’t exist..." - That seems like a stupid claim. I thought the more valid claims were around 'time to mine' and 'feasibilty of mining'.

@williammeek4078 I've heard those claims made. I'm also aware we have billion dollar industries lining up across the board linking their lips over the mining profits to be made. This is no different to the fossil fuel industries. I'm relatively wealthy yet reluctant to buy the current EVs as I see them as an environmental hazard. Especially at scale. Folly for the wealthy.

@williammeek4078 I live on a planet where the tree line used to be much closer to the north pole and glaciers such as the Mendenhall and LaPerouse reveal old forest areas. The Great Barrier Reef has more coral lately than has been seen over the very short time (36 years) of closer observation. I certainly don't have concerns over atmospheric CO2 levels. I would like to see CO2 levels rise. Fossil fuels do present other pollution issues though and complexities. Folly for wealthy people. What about the world's 'not so rich'? I was looking at buying a BMW 330e hybrid, but I don't see the current industry around EV batteries as an environmentally friendly path.

@williammeek4078 Equating actual old tree lines and glacial ice covered forest areas to "flat earth" concepts is enough thanks. Ice and trees don't lie. Humans do. The reasons EVs are potentially worse than fossil fuels are many. Various infrastructure resources/road decay rates/tire wear rates/mining issues etc. This said, with improved battery technology (Geely for example) some of these concerns will lessen. FWIW, I have protested against fossil fuel use in prior decades. I am hopeful for technology better than such a massive roll-out of batteries.

@williammeek4078 Currently, some of the major car manufacturers are taking somewhat of a pause with EVs . Volkswagon & Toyota. There are so many complex aspects. I have lived in numerous residences where the luxury of plugging an EV in overnight is not an option. These places are not the domain of wealthier people. Historic tree lines and forested areas are what they are. The trees don't walk around. Greenland provides further examples...but hey.

You can't stop the climate changing.
