@sallydaniel1023 Hydroxychloroquine is no longer patented to one company? It is relatively cheap, and ONLY some of those effected by cover-19 need use it. This is not some plan to vaccinate the world (mega profits involved).

@thetruth4198 "how many more will die because the president believes it may work and because he says you have nothing to lose" - A democrat donor reportedly gave a chloroquine containing substance designed for fish to herself and her husband in a soda drink. This is simply not the same as seeking advice from your doctor. I knew about the use of chloroquine vs covid-19 weeks before Trump made public mention of it. The potential adverse effects of hydroxychloroquine are reasonably well known due to it's use for many decades (thus it is off patent). We are not introducing a new drug to humans. Large longer term double-blind trials are useless in the early stages of a pandemic. That is why we seek observational data from treating physicians and smaller studies to provide interim data.

It is not even patented. Many companies make this decades old drug. It only goes to select patients. The profits are in a vaccine for all.

Are doctors no longer allowed to prescribe drugs in an off-label fashion? The legacy of medical science includes a lot of experimentation. Are you suggesting doctors give no pharmaceutical medications in order to directly counter covid-19 infection ?

@thetruth4198 I was excited for this medication weeks before Trump spoke in public about it. Context and full phrases matter. President Trump has merely said, "I think it could be a game changer. And maybe not,". Unethical mainstream media outlets framed Trump by stating he called it a "game changer". This is untrue.

@fostecc The drug is not even patented. It is only given to select cover-19 positive patients. A vaccination for all is where the money is at.
