You don't know it yet but, your job is keeping you healthy. It is keeping you both physically and mentally active. It will pay for itself down the line when you're in your 50's and other people your age are falling apart from years of working a sedentary job. You have a good thing going, especially in today's world.

I saved $5,000 AUD in my first job in Australia at age 18 in 1989 on a clerical traineeship wage. I used it to travel to Europe and ended up getting a job there (Canary Islands) and stayed for four years. My English language skills came in handy.

Look up the book titled The Secret to Getting a Job by Philip Garside. He also has some YouTube videos.

My husband works in a manufacturing plant and regularly clocks in 22,000 to 24,000 steps a shift. It works out between 3 to 3.5 hours. I'm a stay at home mum and get in 14,000-15,000 steps a day in by just getting up constantly throughout the day and walking around inside my house. Neither of us have to plan in exercise.

@StevenJohn91 I did basic administrative assistant work with English translating and interpreting included. I was hired because the guy interviewing me loved Australia, where I'm from. My parents are from the Canary Islands and migrated to Australia. I went to Tenerife and lived and worked in the capital, Santa Cruz.

@StevenJohn91 What Islands have you been to? Which is your favourite and what's your favourite town and local food? There are so many Brits in the Canaries. The place us crawling with them! And Germans too. Anyone that can speak both Spanish and English can get work there. On Tenerife, the south of the island is the touristy part. Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas for example. But, in the north there is also Puerto de la Cruz. When I lived there, I pretty much just stuck to the capital, where the locals were. But, I also went to visit my grandparents in the village called Güimar. It's also where I was born.
