I had two thoughts related to this heartbreaking story. 1) 5 people died who didn't have to, including a 19 year old boy, due to the stupidity of a "dreamer" who chose to ignore advice from experts, and 2) I can no longer trust news stories from ANY source whatsoever.   4. I have a dilemma. I am from the Canary Islands but migrated to Australia age 2 with my parents in 1973. My question is this: Do I ask for reparations from the Spanish and Portuguese for invading my ancestor's lands, the Guanches, of which I share 25% of their DNA, colonising them and then declaring us to be Spanish territory and citizens? Or, do I PAY reparations to the Australian aboriginals for living on THEIR lands, even though I am an Australian citizen and both my husband and son were born here and are natives? Anyone..?

These people too roam around, looking for a victim to video & post online, label them transphobic, harrass, intimidate, threaten, physically attack, get them cancelled online, publicly shamed, fired from their job, ruin their family life, trans their children, remove custody and become homeless and destitute.   12. When I was single I used to volunteer with the Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol. I even volunteered to be their bookkeeper, which was my day job. I was the only young woman on the team. Every single other volunteer was a retiree. I remember them telling me I was an unusual woman. I didn't know anything better to do and didn't know any different. I was trained to steer a 44 foot twin-engine ex Coast Guard vessel by the team leader and learned to do manoeuvres around Sydney Harbour. I also manned the rescue radio and obtained my radio licence. At the end of the day we would go to the pub on the Port, drink a beer and he would tell me old timer stories. It was one of the best things I ever did while young.
