I came with my family to America as a little kid about 3 decades ago. I recently applied for a job and when the guy in H.R. found out I was German, the first thing he said was, "Papers, please." They also sent out an email through the company talking about nazis. Previous job, they called me a nazi, said I was, "goose stepping", made holocaust jokes. Prior to that, I applied for another job and everybody who interviewed me liked me except a Polish guy who worked there, (for some unknown reason) so I did not get the job. Prior to that, I was at college get death threats and people would say Germans (not nazis) are evil, call me a school shooter, follow me home and when I would go other places outside of college and vandalize my car and threaten to end the lives of my family (which they did). I could go on and on but you get the point.

@Add88228 I will stand by anybody who is a good person, helps out their community and country they live in and who unjustly faces persecution. That being said, I am also very afraid of the government! You guys are doing a great job! Keep it up!

Seinfeld Soup Nazi episode is to blame for trivializing the word. I'm German, so you know I am not joking, as this is not the way of our people.

I live in America. My family moved to German when I was a child. I have been threatened, stalked, harassed, denied employment and even had close family members made, "unalive (youtube censors certain words?)" simply because I am German. I am trying to leave America to move to Germany, but after being homeless and developing health problems due to the way I've been treated the last 3 decades, I don't know if that will ever be possible. I will most likely die early, suffer greatly and be in massive debt.
