@persistentwind Makes PERFECT economic sense ! - since the TOTAL AMOUNT of spent uranium in USA , used up in the U.S. commercial reactors, have generated about 90,000 metric tons of spent fuel since the 1950s. If ALL of it were able to be stacked together, it could fit on a **SINGLE** football field at a depth of less than 10 yards.... So its IRRELEVANT in term od STORAGE! ( but the anti-nuclear morons, pretty well financed by the 'OIl&Gas" Industry, shut down the American Nuclear Power ... perhas 'forever' ! :-) )

@Snake_Red sure ... that's what the Soviet Russians used to do during the Cold War era , they would dump all the nuclear waste in the Ockotsk and Behring Sea ... why not !? 🙂

it was relatively 'puny' 600 MW power station ... but brilliantly it was never opearated after 1975 referendum ! , and it was replaced next door by a COAL-POWER station ( somewhat even smaller , I think less than 400MW) and now that coal-power station it is the BIGGEST EMMITTER of CO2 in Austria ! - so much for SAVING THE PLANET ! Hilarious !

@ArnoldoCanalesRojas The Romans ( and their Western Roman Empire civilization) got overrun by more WAR-LIKE Barbarian Tribes - in spite of Roman Legion Military Technology, when the Romans become to morally corrupt, too complacent and too 'soft' - EVEN by the less-advanced, but more MILITARY BRUTAL BARBARIANS ( Germans, Huns, Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Vandals, Suebes, etc. ), who didn't follow any PC rules :-)... Perhaps the United States need to LEARN ? 🙂 (of course it took over 200 years for the (Eastern) Roman Empire to fully fall apart in 476, and while the (Eastern) Roman Empire lasted well into 15th century ... )
