@Hawk619 dont believe necessarily what you see/hear on BBC or MSNBC 🙂 ( The Georgians are not CONTROLLED by Putin/Russia, as a matter they want what Putin wants, be left alone by the BIG GeoPowers - and don't want to become the "war zone" - BTW it's a 'pissy' country of 3 million - and dont want to get sucked in, like Zelenskij and UKRaine did - perhaps they are 'smarter' - or just further from the NATO epicenter in EU 😞 )

@jeanlamb5026 1. Russia has 'UKRaine" situation in the bag ... 🙂 2. Georgia is non-event ... The Georgians are too smart to be sucked into "fighting' BigRussia ... for what ? NATO would NOT fight for them, and they are not likely EVER be accepted into EU ( it is pissy 3 million people, at the edge of the world, thousands of miles from EU geographic region ... LOL! )

Georgia has been a part of Russian Empire since 1801 ( same as the Crimea has been a part of the Russian Empire since the late 1770's) - therefore its completely undestandable why Russia/Putin want to keep both of them in their sphere ... and the same issues are here: is Georgia going to win against Russia/Putin ? NOT likely ... ( same as Ukraine is NOT going to win against Russia/Putin at the moment !? - ( AND THAT MY FRIEND IS THE REAL GeoPolitics of the Region ! )

LOL! 🙂 Read and Listen to some real experts who actually know a LOT about History & Geopolitics of that region ( I would start with Stephen Kotkin, George Friedman,ex-STRATFOR, and several others others ... ( and not Zeihan , or somesuch 'prognastikators' , Zeihan, who was low-level flunky at STRAFOR, and now he is just a "parrot" for the NATO and Biden WH ... 😞- but Zeihan is a pretty good on Econ DATA analysis )

BTW - GeoPolitical Reality is that Russia/Putin DOESN'T need to OCCUPY Georgia, they just do NOT want them to be in 'other camp' - NATO Camp ! 🙂... "clear as mud" LOL! :-)

@ava7lanche yes, Caucases' "nations" , Georgia Azerbajjan, Armenia .. have a great history, but they are a small nations who get swept up by the Empires : Persian,, Seljuk, Byzantine, Mongolian, and then finally the RUSSIAN EMPIRE in 1800 ... and that is pretty well the situation today, the Russian sphere of influence leads back to 1800 ... can Georgia, or Amenia exist without the Russian Empire ( likely not , they would be absorbed into the MUSLIM/ISLAM HOARDS in the region ! 😞)
