  1. I'm guessing the handles of the No7 bayonet would not play well with the muzzle blast of .303 MkVIIz ball ammo. The SLR bayonet (which has the handle in a similarly exposed position with regard to the actual muzzle, given how long the flash suppressor is) has a metal grip for that reason, I suspect.
