  10. Here is the thing It does advocate for making career Govt employees into political appointees. So a president will be able to replace experts with toadies and suck ups. I know a bunch of people that have worked for the govt for years. They are experts and hard workers. We will all be much worse off once they are replaced by appointees and lackeys.

  13. Yea there needs to be a higher pay floor so that the companies don’t take advantage of the foreign employees . The companies have unfair leverage that allows them to pay less and make them work extra long hours.

  21. The cartels in Mexico are a huge problem but the smart fix for the problem is to gradually pivot manufacturing from china to central America. If there are more good paying jobs in central america people wont flee north. Also if people are paying taxes in mexico the Mexican government will have more resources to deal with the cartels. reducing the need for the cartels is easier than fighting them.

The Ukrainians who are fighting and dying are the ones that get to say when they are done fighting to save their families from brutal russian occupation. Apparently the spray tan draft dodger in chief has decided he likes putin better and we will completely betray US allies. You know it would have been easier to betray europe but apparently back then our leaders were not cowards and sellouts.

  25. I think the ITAR lists DO need to be updated. There are some really antiquated things on those lists. It puts US engineering firms in a uniquely disadvantaged position. Im not saying stop ITAR but some of these things like submersible ROV thrusters were invented in the 60s and ANYONE can make one. Its a motor in a can full of oil with a propellor sticking out. The market isn’t that big so you really don’t want to sell just to the US. This is especially true because the us government doesn’t want to bother unless you are an ordained by lobbyists PRIME contractor. PRIME contractors are like Boeing. they are large and ossified and basically incapable of innovation. They only have innovative products because companies like mine cant sell stuff and have to convince a PRIME contractor to acquire them. At which point the entire drive to produce innovative products is gone.

  32. So back when trump went bankrupt several times and proved that the house doesn’t always win he needed to borrow money. Trump even himself said he is the king of debt. After the bankruptcy legit banks were not lending him money. There were however a bunch of russian oligarchs and saudis around with deep pockets. I think Tump has always been cozy with the saudis and Russians because the loaned him money when no one else would. Trump is nothing if not transactional.

  35. I think that allot of what Ryan said also makes me think that there likely are no shortcuts through space and time. No warp drives no FTL. Mass is our prison. If there is intelligent life out there it is stuck where it is just as we are stuck in this solar system. Even the material thrown out in jets from magnetars and black holes doesn’t go faster the speed of light and I cant even imagine that amount of energy.
