His origin WAs that of Iron Man ie weapon manufacturer that decided to redeem himself, BUT 1)Iron Man wasn't stopping weapons production and redeeming himself before movies, even in animated series he was still producing weapons for government. In comics Armor Wars was his turning point and that happened after Steel; 2)he doesn't have any of Thor's powers. Just Iron Man's ones and even then he's cut short by budget. No army of [Insert]Busters, no army of support drones, no orbital weapons, no nanotech that basically makes one a Green Lantern. NANOMACHINES, SON! 3)Steel was given a short end of the stick because Luthor was redesigned in late 80's to basically be DC's Iron Man. Before that he was a criminal mastermind akin to Fisk, after redesign he became smartest person in DC, richest corporativists on Earth and became a more neutral in terms of his alignment. IE he still will do anything to get what he wants, but now he's also a human supremacist that would act as a hero against alien threats. Problem is in said supremacist part and not all aliens being evil:D So I'd say 50/50

People are still misinterpreting the "fight" from Dark Knight Returns, I see. Does anybody even remember that army with kill order on Bruce was on the scene or that USA and USSR were 15 seconds away from nuclear war?

Strangely enough, there is some later on in the film. Simply because he's not always interested to finish off the strugglers or when he's distracted.

And no one in the world will blame russian for the latter and neither member of "nuclear club" would want to set an example of mercy when you try to f//ck with them. @egghead4624 half of them come from cannon, several are even used in this very scene. For example note sonic emitter used by Batman here and in DKR. And that's a model that wasn't designed against him specifically and didn't have extra 40 years of technological progress to back it up.

@rodney2x48 fan theory is that Krypton self isolated because they have witnessed effects of yellow and blue sunlight on newest generations of kryptonians and some even speculate that Earth was an abandonned kryptonian colony ie why humans and kryptonians can have children. It's all and good being a galaxy spanning militarist xenophobe empire until your own rioting citizens on some far away colony get superpowers strong enough not only to resist arrest, but to duke it out with your battleships.... well, maybe not battleships, but with kryptonian empire equivalent of a tank for sure. And that is what DC lacks, background galaxy where events happen. Earth is the only hub for all storylines, empires of Mars, Thanagar, Tamaran, Apocalips and New Genesis are mostly ignored. There is no mention of continuos Cold Was between the latter two that forces Darkside to work through agents and provocation, there isn't actual diplomacy between thanagarians and tamaranians, there is no explanation about the state of Mars. Universe of DC lacks context so people are rarely invested into storylines.

@michaelwebb3553 Eradicator is basically "antropomorphic personification" of Fortress of Solitude. Which was an exploration vessel! Now imagine what kryptonian military tech can do;) But yes, it's a "hologram" that uses equipment of Fortress to simulate its own abilities. Manipulation of energy, gravity, energy-mass transfer and basically everything we had seen Fortress do. Eradicator is basically a targeting drone for Fortress. He finds the target and sends a power request, Fortress manifests that power.

@Ahloveyafuhso yeah, as well as 1)army was in Gotham in full strength and were willing to turn the city into rubble to kill Bruce. Only presence of Kal, who was supposed to handle situation is holding them back; 2)USSR was still few minutes from launching full scale retaliation strike. If the news of Superman being killed would get out, say hello to our old friend, nuclear apocalypse; 3)to win, Bruce would have to abuse Kal's trust. And while he despised Kal's support of goverment, he was still his friend and cared about him. That's one of the reasons he's so pissed off when he finds about the nuke. So all the preparations, radiation and "lack of sunlight"(that one was actually a bad part of comic. Several scenes later on happen during the day plus Kal can just fly somewhere else to recharge, simplest option - space itself) are secondary to main problem - Bruce was never willing and stupid enough to actually win that fight. Yes, with preparations it is possible to take Superman down, that's why Lex even exists. In fact most Superman enemies are this way. And to those, who aren't... Kal himself is becoming Batman of sorts. It is the only way he can fight Doomsday nowadays.

@professorhal8098 By the time Damian is around, Bruce is nearing 50. He was 30 when he just started as Batman and that was before all the Robins, each one of whom took around 4 years to train(8-12 starting age > 12-16 active age. 8 and 12 are obviously Damien ie youngest one. Jason "died", Dick had gone to TT for time then went solo. The only one that stayed for long it seems is Tim). Barbara is portrayed as being trained alongside either Tim or Dick, Cassandra was mentored by Catherine and Shiva, Carrie and Terry are decades into the future(Carrie joins Bruce around his 65 age, Terry meets 80 year old one. There's even a comic where instead of Bruce, it is Damien, who saves and trains Terry. Damien is Batman by that point and is hitting his own 40's).

@metalore Brainiac has technology of many different races, has higher processing power and more power output, he can also "split" with no side effects. More importantly he works for himself while Eradicator basically is Fortress AI with limited freedom. So he's more dangerous. But still a good comparison. P.S.: Probably Eradicator served as basis for Superbots made by Kal years later.

Can we trap all assheads and make Batman explain to them that there's a whole city with its own police and whole country with its own army and dozens of bureaus and services. He already plays role of detective, riot/swat officer, social worker, emergency service and so on. Alone. Why the fuck everyone else is so lazy that they can't even play jury, judge and executioner if they find it SO easy? Why the fuck you ask MORE of him and how do you justify doing that to yourself? Where is Cadmus with all its claims of protecting people? Have general Lane forgot that he's also a US general because of his hobby?

@infamouspotato2028 the biggest irony is that Stellaris is PEGI 7... 7! Or 6+ in some countries. Because all those genocides, racial cleansings, slavery, using sentient species as food and so on are only implied, not shown. And the text that describes it is apparently not noticed by reviewers:D

He isn't. There is police, army, FBI, CIA, thousands of PMCs, smaller bureaus and services on US soil. If Batman ALONE locks up all the criminals don't dare blaming him that everyone else can't handle even that. He's not on payroll, he's not getting tax cut for this, he won't get a vacation. If he doesn't want to kill them, take all of his workload before hypocritically saying that he's not doing ENOUGH.

@st4ne4rmthevill63 MCU shows that Asgardian "strategy" consisted of warriors standing around like cheerleaders while a member of royal family was busy with literal genocide. Odin, Hela, Loki, Thor. Loki destroyed the world of Cold Giants, killed all of them. Thor also invaded it for fun and killed hundreds of locals. Asgardian strategy was a space imperialist terrorism. Hela even calls them out on hypocrisy of jailing her after using such means to build an empire.

@rodney2x48 there is no Earth in Star Wars, but somehow people care. Make Starfire grab Nightwing and go live to some tamaranean colony world. There are martians, there are lantern corps. Use characters to flesh out the new settings during storylines. Well, sadly Krypton series seems to have killed those theories.

+Shark Assassin had same feelings until second game where he tanks all magic weapons we know about, green kryptonite weaponry and several wounds from gold kryptonite without slowing down and isn't even flinching with a whole chunk of kryptonite in his shackles in the ending. Injustice Superman was undergoing some enhancing procedures on himself, it's clear. Red kryptonite steroids? Blue sunlight charging? Kryptonian nanotech augmentation? Who knows, but it's pretty clear that he's not normal Superman.

@Icebergeification 1)I'm not saying that he should, as he wouldn't seek it, but also because...I'm saying that there isn't a point of mayor if there are no tasks that mayor is doing. No point in police, no point in the city itself if single guy should handle every task. As in read the actual comment; 2)yeah, but the proper line is to have police handle the parent and social services to find the child new family. You blame officer for not taking every orphan home. Funnily enough, she had time and distance to survive. She was on the opposite side of the fight, remember? The furthest possible point. She was soaked in water too and as good old trick with lowering your hand into molten lead shows, it can help. She needed to move her ass and find shelter ASAP though, which probably didn't happen. As for blast power, you can see that the mounted statue is relatively untouched. But that's on topic of heat. Radiation dose is still beyond lethal in either case.

She's not only the queen of amazons, but also technically to all the sons of amazons, who work Hephaetus forges. So she also has access to an arsenal of the most powerfull(after Trident of Atlantis and Helm of Dr.Fate of course) magical armors and weapons in DC. Just show up and tell them that they and their weapons are needed. Normally only her sword comes from those arsenals, but it contains all the weapons forged for Olympian Pantheon over thousands of years. Just gonna ask nicely...
