  4. I'm from Belarus, country that suffered one of the most from Chernobyl disaster. I'm a fan of nuclear power. How I became a fan of nuclear power? Through being interested in Shinkansen and TGV high speed rail rise. I have no idea what kind of logic chain my brain had formed in my subconsciousness to lock it up that way, but here we are. I assume it's connection between stable power production of nuclear power plants and stable power consumption of efficient rail network that make both possible and profitable for the state as a complex issue. Which always led me to wondering why US has neither and if the car lobby was the unintended enemy number one of nuclear power production.

  6. 50/50 They ban it because they're populists following a lobby that got them elected, but... In case of humans some health issues might surface only decades later. I would still view it as limited readiness technology. However it's mass adoption can lead to real breakthroughs in medicine as more funds would be funneled through R&D.

There's quality concerns, but they're usually NOT regulated because buyers need to hire inspectors themselves ie all the regulations don't care about quality and safety of housing at all to begin with. Most regularions thus are bs. And you forgot the main argument against your argument - duplexes, triplexes and other multi family homes. They're okay all over the world in countries with much stricter safety regulations. The only reason they're biased against in US is the whole idea that you may lower land value by building it.

  13. Quick reminder that Boeing lobbied for 2 engine liners to be allowed to ne used on cross ocean air routes. This de facto killed 747 and A380. You know what those two 4 engine liners have in common? They can fly on 75% of their engines and can get to safety on 50%. Wanna know what 2 engine liners CAN'T do over the ocean? Boeing is competing with Sukhoi for their niche at the bottom.

Public education was introduced in 19th century as a way to produce factory workers and then later on in 20th century it was shifted a bit to increase consumer base. That's all. Did US ran out of cheap unskilled labour, who consume pointless things? No? Then why do you claim that their results are poor?

  21. You'd be surprised, but there ARE two weapons that match those descriptions. First would be bumpstocks, but the other ones are called quarter automatic. And you know them, PTRD is a famous example of one, but usually it's seen in artillery. So I take their comment as everyone needing AT LEAST 14,5*114 for home defense. Which is a message I approve. You know, in case Panther shows up.
