  1. What is extremely ironic is that Durov is an example of a guy, who DID do this(create competing platform or rather one with its own niche). But as he's sane person with working self preservation instinct, he left the country when he heard the first whistles. So yes, russians WILL create new marketable products. But like always in russian history, it would be russians OUTSIDE Russia, who escaped the authoritarian state. Gotta love those several centuries old traditions, am I right?
