@nitrometh42 it did. They sold 260 billion aka over a third of US military budget in arms to EU in 2024 while US spent only 3,5 billion to support divisions in NATO states. So the course is clear, the issue is that EU has demilitarised so much that they can't scale production even with help of Sweden. And unless EU goes to require 3,5%-5% GDP military budget, they will never fix it. And even then it'll take a decade.

@FakeSchrodingersCat the issue is that Trump saw that deal as independence guarantee to Ukraine. US has no lever on Russia and Trumps REALLY wants Russia to love him. So he wants to end this war as soon as possible, but knows he can't really give Ukraine out. So his suggestion is to put US companies in Ukraine to make sure that if Russia attacks, they'll attack american property. Likewise they've tried to leverage arrested russian funds to go solely into rebuilding occupied parts of eastern Ukraine. The issue is that Trump sees it as not his problem and that allowing eastern/western Ukraine scenario is okay because it'll "blow over in 30 years" and nobody would care. But it won't. Because while Russia threw innumerable bodies at frontline, they gained MORE population on occupied territories. As a value of total population they GAINED people. And they gained slavic ortodox christian russian speaking hard working taxpayers instead of criminals they threw at frontlines. People forget that. They think Trump is throwing Ukraine under the bus, but he doesn't. He throws half of Ukraine under the bus in preparation to throwing ALL of Baltics under the bus. Likely in first weeks of next president.
