Meanwhile solution is simple. We already have the data on who produced, imported and exported how much plastic or other type of trash that is supposed to be recycled. Oh, recycling is not profitable? Well, now it is. Because it had just became a problem of the very country that produced/imported it. Congrats, recycling is now profitable because it is your legal duty to recycle an equal amount to what you've brought to this country if you want to keep your business license. Oh, you'll leave the country? Enjoy embargo on your goods and goods of everyone, you've supplied in this country. The switch to using less plastic and more easily recyclable ones would happen VERY fast if corpo pockets get targeted. Problem is - they never will. Enjoy your dead oceans full of used condoms, you suckers:D

@evanever it is more of a mentality of "next time will be different" problem. I still don't get it how people talk all the time about jobs leaving to places that have 30 times less pay and then they play the shocked and surprised cards about those places having borderline slavery. Why have you thought the pay was so low?!

Then what's your problem with China refusing to waste resources to bring that waste to them and then sit on it? There is now a stimuli to develop actual recycling. Which won't happen as we both know. I wonder if latter is also chinese fault in your eyes?
