@JimCOsd55 Jimmy, my dear armchair expert. What is the maximum range of TOS-1? You don't see it as important little bit, hmm?

@JimCOsd55 actually if you go back on this discussion, you'd see that it's not the first time I ask this question and marvel how the gears in your heads don't click. However people here are a bit too preoccupied with political discussion based partially on fantasy to notice such "little" details like technical capabilities of this systems and simple fact that they're not used outside of their niche simply because russians don't have a deficit of weapon systems in those either.

@JimCOsd55 pistol and naval gun also share the fact they're firearms. They serve different roles in different niches on different scale though. You're trying to call a glorified nowadays successor of assault guns an MLRS. Despite russians already having MLRS systems in place. Thousands of them inherited from USSR as well as newly produced ones. You're trying to claim that shotgun is a good enough long range precision rifle if loaded with slugs while sitting on a crate of DMRs.

@JimCOsd55 "it’s all good and well against an army without gun, rocket launchers and aircraft of their own but up against a well armed opponent, it will never get within 6 km to unleash a salvo!" Still makes more sense then A-10 then?:D

You guys do realise that there are precision warheads for MLRS systems of both US and RF that can target individual entities like tanks and APCs? And they existed for many years now. The problem is that those cost TOO MUCH with current production processes so it's easier to reload the system several times. Plus TOS-1 isn't MLRS, it's basically modern assault gun. it isn't going to be used in MLRS role since RF has thousands of units of actual MLRS systems.
