Until robots try to run away...

Lab Mammoth by having common equivalent it's just easier. The problem is in deciding who has the right to determine said equivalent and how to make sure that the system can't be exploited ie making more of said equivalent out of itself by providing no extra work or goods thus forcing the system to balance itself out at expense of other members. Great that it's not happening irl, riiiiiiiiiight?;\

Yves Bösch you surely don't. Fusion power? Solar microwave sattelites? Said robots mining whole solar system? Oh yeah, right, forgot that you're a firm believer into only one field of research advancing at a time. Because that's absolutely how it works. Not like said robots shown in the video would require thousands of other technologies and innovations in all other fields. After all science works as if we're part of Civ game. First we advance from writing straight for spaceships, then backtrack for agriculture.

+Malaysian I. Rex the question is: why the f//ck do you believe that used resources aren't reusable and universe(and our solar system especially) consists only of resources we've already used? You feel like dying right now? Starving maybe? So the world can handle 7 billion? Spoiler alert: with proper planning, resource management and attitude even nowaday we can handle upwards of 12 billions. Get us self aware robots, genetical engineering, fusion power and materials that allow having working space elevator and even 30 becomes a miserable joke. But please, continue buying "overpopulation" crap that is caused solely by overconsumption on the side of those who're screaming that we should get rid of population. Usually they also specify criteria which undesirable by them pops should be destroyed for. Like race, religion, nationality...
