  1. They did. Leo 2 was one of the things that was evaluated by Russia during Medvedev's mock "presidency". They took a look into a lot of vehicles under pretense of buying them back then. Judging by what they copied, they especially liked italian APCs.

  2. This reminds of questions of what NATO can learn from captured T-90M to which all people answered "nothing, it's just same old T-72 with imported sights." Leo 2 doesn't have much secrets beyond what russians themselves already looked up on it during army evaluations of it over a decade ago. And whatever good it has, Russia can't use because it doesn't believe in ergonomics and doesn't have native production of modern electronic and optical components. The only thing is engine. Which they could have bought on the market just like chinese did(ZTZ99 is called lovechild of T-80U and Leo 2 for a reason). So all in all, nothing that they can replicate, use or learn without changing their approach to tank design, milotary doctrine, economy, education and politics 😂
