Better question is - why not? There are some Warsaw Pact equipment types that are simply not produced in NATO despite having a battlefield niche for them. For example SPAA like Tunguska and attack helicopter with transport capabilities like Mi-24. A few years back USMC was looking for Mi-24's and pilots for them as an OPFOR for training. Why not extend it further? Buy a few old Mi-24's, scoop them out of obsolete equipment and remember legacy of S-67. New engines, props and avionics. It would be better for hot scenarios then UH-60 and would serve as OPFOR training for Mi-35 too. I'm pretty sure that there is still enough specialists left in former Warsaw Pact states(and those, who immigrated) who had experience with those helicopters. And it would also allow said states to make better contributions to NATO.

@Muck Around sorry to say it, but they are different vehicles. The point of Pantsir was to get the price of missiles as low as possible hence why they have passive guidance. So they can't be better then Tunguska by definition, only cheaper to fire. You should also look for missile modifications, not vehicle ones. But yes, I'd agree, Tunguska is long for an upgrade, specifically programmable fuze and optical target acquisition system like on Su-35(though that one will probably cost as much as Tunguska itself). Both of which are required to intercept munitions properly and to operate without active radar in case the enemy™ has antiradiation missiles...

@Muck Around Nice of you to notice that it's different systems with different missiles. It means that missile of Tunguska is fire and forget one while missile of Pantsir is a dumb piece of shit that relies on parent vehicle to guide her to target. Bad signal, lost line of sight, haven't turned the dish in time? You missed, cheapo. It was developed for Saudi contract and for many years russian army was openly calling it piece of shit. Navy uses Kortik system. Но ты продолжай втирать мне про офигенность дешёвого куска говна, который производят только потому, что он дешев. Да и циферки перепроверь, милок;)
