Thus instead of facing the bear with it's pants down, you're facing exactly the one you should have in 1944-45... but three years too early. 2)by not striking down on any of the soviet resource base on the ground as soviets outnumber your airforce even on the best days and now you've once again allowed them to use those reserves of trained pilots by taking your time. 3)Italy is dead btw, you allowed Allies to take it out too early and are now facing Western Front in 1942. Not to mention Allied navies are having a grand time at your expanse all over the place 4)you've lost popular support, there are mutinies in the army, assasination plots are much more likely to succeed now that there are more higher ups involved. Irl germany was facing the famine long before the "final soultion" and this shortage of food is one of the reasons why it was taken when proper preparations for invasion into USSR began. But here... here you've enforced famine on the germans themselves. In 1941. GG WP, Stalin approves. 5)not only have you failed to overtake Vichi France and take out it's fleet, but thanks to point #3 you're facing a serious probability of it defecting you. Same goes for Romania. Oh, and soviets occupied Finland btw. Shall I continue, "Mr.People, who came to power are idiots, that's why I sit behind monitor"?

@KenjaTimu well, thanks for editing the comment before people could respond. No, Germany HAD vehicles. A lot more of them that it could run. Especially in case of civilian vehicles where even gas generators weren't helping. As a result vehicles were used only when the need was critical and a direct order from above allowed it. Yes, and one of the reasons it couldn't produce more was lack of energy due to lack of fuel, bomb raids on factories because Luftwaffe lacked fuel, lack of Kriegsmarine success in intercepting UK and USSR supply due to lack of fuel. There is always a cause and effect connections, watch the video first, please.

Dale Hemme not sure if you're trolling or being serious when starting to talk about critical thinking only to derail it completly, but... But just one question - you're ready to give SO MUCH credit to competence of said "string pullers" in keeping secrecy and controlling masses when they're blatantly incompetent in all other fields, especially in long term developement and stability?:D

+TIK I know that Japan isn't an "official" Axis member outside some Allied sources of low quality, but why no mention of american embargo on Japan and how it forced them to attack USA? Why no mention of how italian oil production in Libya was important to goals of african campaign, one of its causes and how it influenced it? Why no mention of the fact that crude oil=/=fuel and how "desperate and losing" british and soviets invaded Iran in late summer 1941 to add its oil reserves and ESPECIALLY its famous Abadan refinery, one of the most powerful in the world back then and how they justified it by claiming that Iran was leaning to Axis(which it maybe was doing to save itself)? Without this video is great, but at the same time seems almost... half finished at best?

Actually there is a factor number 2(among several dozen, but this one is also major and oil related): tanks had gone forward and lost their support units behind. Which happened because said units along with infantry and artillery lack sufficient motorization. Which happened because the lacked vehicles and fuel. Which happened because the lacked... yep. And that is a tip of an iceberg.

It was an option(in fact it was THE intent eventually. Wipe out british army=/=murder everyone after they surrender. They'd be POW, after all british are no slavs and germans are not japanese), but british used the generous proposition to escape to... well, do just that;) One also popular proposition of "what germans should have done instead" under authorship of internet "historians and strategy experts" is the use of british troops as a bait for their navy to put it in place where Luftwaffe can cause more damage to it... which germans also did already. People tend to always believe their ancestors to be morons while in reality, it's usually the opposite:D

@lolroflroflcakes they did. Otherwise there wouldn't be Dunkirk evacuation to begin with and this talk wouldn't have happened. The question is only if it started as intentional pause and ended up a fail to do so because time was lost or mistake on assessing forces and figuring out logistics... and misguided faith in airforce in both cases:\

@KenjaTimu /facepalm/ Ok, please add an argument to this "point" of yours. Armored recovery vehicles? Germany. APCs? Germany. Trucks? Germany. Jeeps and motorcycles? Germany. And they've kept this superiority for a long time. And sorry to burst your bubble, but german vehicles supply suited russian roads much more then nonexisting russian ones. Stop acting like an idiot. France also had more tanks then Germany. And? Empty numbers don't help. They're counter productive.

@Shiftinggers we did, long ago. It's called electricity;) Which can be produced even by renewable sources. The problem is planes, ships and... our whole chemical industry. We depend on oil and coal not only as fuels, but as basis of our chemical and metallurgical industries. And even with fusion reactors and solar power sattellites in orbit, we'd need oil and coal for those two. So much in fact that burning it today as pathetic fuel is basically a crime against humanity.

@partytor11 but it provides a leverage on oil prices. And mostly through projecting power in the region and using Iraq as an example and warning to all neighbouring countries. Including best butt oil buddy of USA - SA;)

You forgot Attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 that was caused by oil embargo of Japan by USA thus "driving" japanese to attack and italian own oil production in Libya, defense of you which was one of the reasons of African campaign.

@6handicap604 japanese wanted to achieve the same with americans as germans with british - strike a series of serious victories and force them to the table to sign an agreement. Neither had knowledge that 1)they wouldn't back down; 2)been more powerful then expected. It's not only oil, but also steel exports. And several other materials. However yes, mostly it was a fuck up on japanese side. It wouldn't have stopped American involvement though as US was just looking for excuse to help UK by then.
