Why only on Apple? IRS has detailed data on every milligram of metals in those electronics, so why not apply the "income-outcome" laws people suggested for decades? You brought in or produced the following piece of scrap with engineered redundancy? It's your job to send it to it's final journey of waste recycling. Not leaving the country, but recycling? What's that, you can't do it yourself? Well, then government would recycle it for you and send you the bill. It would make corporations harder to evade taxes in same country as their customer base is situated AND give them incentives to develop cheaper and more efficient recycling technologies for actual deployment instead of just for news article like all those CO2 traps.

Is it weird that I don't see anything wrong with things you've listed in your original comment? Russian billionaires right now spend whole fortunes to try and get back to german, american and israeli hospitals incognito because none of them cared about russian healthcare. Likewise none of the foreign engineers I knew about in China planned to start a family there. Work for some time and earn money - yes, raise kids - hard nope. Every billionaire has property in Dubai, but none of them even stay there, not to mention live there. Let's just say that I have a bit of "Spidey sense" moment that whispers into my ear that they don't want to spend their lives there? They want to be rich in EU, US, Australia, Japan and so on. You can quote Caesar about rather being first guy in some barbaric village then number two in Rome, but here's the thing, they're painfully aware that each dictatorship is lined up to number 50 on inheritance line at least and money doesn't give you power among robber barons, a pistol to your skull does. US stands on a cliff, asking itself the same question - what if they'll leave if we raise taxes/cut subsidies/don't grant bailout? The answer already was seen during WWII taxation levels. They will start to run. Let them and burn the bridges behind them.

@paulh.9526 every person, who died in german "socialist", russian "socialist" and chinese "socialist" prison camps were all imprisoned there after 100% legitimate trial according to the government of the time and had popular support(as in people supported not ending up there too more then supporting victims) behind that decision. Every slave and serf prosecuted in human history was also prosecuted according to laws of the time. While it makes them legitimate "targets" in your eyes, in mine it still means that 99% of people ever prosecuted by regimes were bloody innocent from moral point of view simply by the sheer amount of victims, time passed and how bs was the justification behind "laws" put in by threats and bloodshed alone. May your government deserve at least a third of trust you have just declared to them and we'd live in a worldwide utopia in next decade 🙏

In the old days they didn't have 100500 available resumes at a click of a mouse button, you know? You're assuming companies, CEO and HR departments were more human and honest "back then", but they weren't, they're just lazy and they didn't have the tools yet. Now they have them. Next piece would be decided by the outcome of "AI revolution", can we save our jobs or will the middle ranks be taken by de facto memory archives leaving only upper ranks you can be only born into and lower ranks with de facto labor camp living conditions?

@Kensuke0987 and I talked about using the opportunity to castrate the whole sector if they won't stop pissing all over the populace \/(-_-)\/ Data is recorded, recycling rates are sadly high and landfills are full of work that needs to be done. And best part? You can't directly strike at small or medium business owners or even consumers with this move as the billing would be publicly available info.
