Question: can you cover the 1993(or was it 1994) slaughter of single engine soviet aircraft by Russia? When all those modernized or outrigjt new planes like MiG-23 and MiG-27 were sent to a scrapyard over what was rumoured as systematic inability to provide quality control on production and proper maintenance in service for engines? And if said rumour has anything to do with chinese drive to become engine independent from Russia even on licensed russian planes?

@beibotanov it would have been a great argument if Russia hadn't retained piles of hardware from WWII and left thousands of other, often older planes in open storage for sales and to use for parts. Meanwhile those MiGs were just betrayed. Worst case they could have "gifted" them to India(the only operator of MiG-23 outside Warsaw Pact), former WP and USSR states OR to long term MiG-21 operators like PRC. As far as I know, that's not what happened.

@beibotanov never understood how MiG-21 outlived MiG-23 and especially MiG-27. Though I'm biased here as I despise the former and love the latter(minus the oversized gun).

@Bialy_1 show me MiG-21 modernized to a point where it'll somehow be a better CAS then "Kaira" MiG-27, I'll wait:D
