Well, at least he had done one of the things that were required to finally end Middle Ages in Europe. Put a start to a very important process. English Reformation shortly after was the final coffin to that period. The other side of the coffin however was nailed by italian merchants. If not for him, we'd both be peasants working the land to this day.

@IsAcRafT what's unfortunate in them being examples of people's faith and organised religious institutions being not the same thing and that fanatics are dangerous no matter the faith?

@johnsteila6049 I talk about the end of monopoly of church and its insitutes on most educational and many economical fields which also ended Middle Ages in short order ie I talk about institution that was the №1 cause of Middle Ages.
