1)peasant didn't work less. Farmers and their whole families work every waking hour to survive. 2)the issue is simple morals. We don't want to bring children into this world if we can't afford for them a BETTER childhood and jumpstart then what we had. And many young people thus just decide that they can't afford to have kids because they don't want to be bad irresponsible parents. As you can see, people who don't care about their kids and partners have no trouble getting someone pregnant all the time;)

Hello from Belarus, eastern Europe. That idea is widespread here too(at least in parts of population that cares about their kids. Alcoholics breed without trouble) and if you ask around in other parts of the world, it's the same, no matter the continent, nationality, race, culture, religion and so on. So I guess basic education and having acceptable childhood yourself are prerequisites...

@dopaminecloud I love how main people advertising "population consciousness" and danger of populationgrowths are billionaires having dozens of bastards. Yeah, if everyone was as morally bankrupt as them, we sure as hell would have been in trouble. But that's the catch, everyone judges the world by their own reflection. So I guess you got someone pregnant as a teen, eh?😂
