Japan attacked because their oil reserves only had a year in them and they wanted to get oil production facilities in the pacific to maintain their industry. The US and other countries had put trade embargoes on oil and steel on Japan due to Japan's invasion of Manchuria. The other two axis powers didn't hence why Japan to Yamamoto's objections signed an alliance with them. That didn't give them all the oil and steel hence why the invasion of other territories such as the Dutch East Indies. This still didn't give them all the resources needed for their war machine. Japan never had any plans for invasion. Their whole plan was to negotiate a settlement and keep all their territories they had taken and keep their military. As well as have the US resume trade of oil and steel. The US refused and wanted unconditional surrender which guess what either would require an invasion of the Japanese mainland or use something to shock the Japanese into surrender. This in freaking textbooks and historians agree. Japan had no plans to invade the US because they didn't have the resources to do so because they were on borrowed time due to resources being low.

  11. and none of them can state where he said it and nor when he said nor can they state who told them he said it. once again a myth that he said it. no one has ever found a source stating he said it not in his documents or japanese documents nor has anyone who would be in position to have talked to him said he said it. in other words no reference no source that can be verified. hence a fake quote. you were told to put up verifiable references or shut up. you have done neither which makes you a fucking idiot. it is not in the Prager files. they are public documents that anyone can look at. nowhere in them is that quote. stop spreading a hoax.

  13. there is a difference between unsourced probably made up quotes to make one feel better, and sourced quotes that while true are unpopular because the truth is unpopular. once again the blade of grass quote has every sign of being fake and spread because it is pr that made Americans feel better about what occurred during the war. that the real truth was the Japanese thought America would give and do a peace treaty rather then invade Japan. the truth is the US was never planned to be invaded because Japan didn't have the resources or manpower. that it was never their goal to win the war against the US. they attacked as a desperation move since their fuel reserves was gone and their war industry would have collapsed and they would have to retreat from Manchuria. if the US had never done on an oil embargo on Japan, they would never have joined the Axis nor attack the US, Dutch East Indies etc. The Japanese military and gov't leadership was thoroughly questioned after ww2 and their documents, records examined. All the evidence shows that Japan never had any intention to invade. They couldn't invade Australia which was next door and sparsely populated with next to no defenses. So who the hell would think they would even plan to invade the US mainland?
