  2. the mutation with reston is a big if. something that readily mutates like the flu that infects many species is far more likely to potentially mutate into something very lethal then a virus that is only lethal to one species if it also gets infected with another disease. its something that certainly needs to be researched. what is really worrying is those rare diseases in jungle areas that for all intents liquefy the organs killing them within days of infection. if the incubation period on those was weeks instead of practically instant then the infected would be able to spread it around rather then just get infected from a reservoir source then die without infecting any other humans.
