Roy Moore is not liked by a lot of Alabama Republicans. He is viewed as a hyper religious hypocrite who the allegations against were easily believed because people could easily see him doing those things. Lots of lifelong Republicans didn't want Moore to run in the first place and would have canceled their Republican membership if he had won. They actually wanted to cross party lines to get rid of Moore. He is political poison to the majority of alabama and has been for decades.
