pretty much all of the gun crime is done by people banned from owning guns. the majority of people murdered are criminals murdered by other criminals. in countries with strict gun control you find the guns being used are black powder antiques often modified to fire real bullets, blank firing guns that have been modified to fire real bullets, tear gas pellet guns modified to fire bullets, improvised guns made from plumping pipes etc.

@fredbloggs5902 there are no official stats because ghost guns do not exist. it is a made up term to make legal private gun making scary. in the US one can make guns for one's own private use provided said guns do not violate nfa laws. these guns cannot be sold, transferred to anybody else unless serialized, other information put down on the gun such as manufacturer caliber location of manufacturer, appropriate forms filled out and taxes paid on the gun. this inability to sale or transfer the assembled gun (without doing a spending a lot of money and time) is why people often put down 30 more dollars for a finished lower receiver to do a parts kit and fill out the background check form then get a blank to do a parts kit.
