@ryelor123 bs. you don't need to have computers and sensors inside to test a pressure vessel to failure. Oceangate was looking for any excuse to claim they were being oppressed

also the cf pressure vessels are for rovs not manned submersibles. no one opposes cf for rovs. they are smaller than a manned vessel and do not have the same considerations.

@sujimayne it didn't do dozens of dives. It only did 13 complete dives. Give you a hint to be certified it has to be put in a pressure tank and then tested to the max dive depth plus a certain percentage hundreds to thousands of times. It would have failed certification. Give you another hint submersibles are meant to function for decades meaning tens of thousands of dives to the max depth.

@elen5871 Stanley also doesn't deep dive with it. He also cancels any dive that something goes wrong and refunds completely the customer.

@paulholmes672 yes it is the material. one cannot predict when it will fail in a manned submersible. no one opposes it for ROVs which is all on that list of submersibles not a single one of them was manned.

except he was an aerospace engineer.

@sujimayne it didn't do dozens of dives. it only did 14 to the Titanic with the 14th not returning.

@rtqii once again certain gauges being destroyed is normal. its part of the purpose of the gauge in how it collects data. Stockton was boasting about the damage like it was some grand thing.

there was no dive 80. There were only 13 complete dives to Titanic

deep sea tourism is a dead industry. supposed interest never turns out into sales. lots of people say they want to spend money but when it comes to they don't.

funny how you forget to mention the difference between composites used for manned submersibles versus remote operated vehicles. no one opposes carbon fiber for ROVs it is that in 70 years no one has been able to determine how many dives a manned submersible using carbon fiber can safely dive before the carbon fiber fails. ROVs are much smaller and also don't have to carry a huge empty space for a person to fit into.

@rtqii that is what Rush claimed. however the pressure sensors are meant to be destroyed and is expected. So Rush is exaggerating what occurred.

@mshepard2264 which is an rov. no one disputes using carbon fiber for rovs. manned it is not used because the failure time cannot be determined.

@dantreadwell7421 and is unmanned, a person cannot fit in it. Guess what that means the pressure considering is not the same. it is also is not carbon fiber. its composite with ceramic
