  2. They have Pakistani warheads since they funded the program. Also the American bases in the Gulf likely have a few warheads, if there aren't any submarines in the region with warheads. Iran wants them because they're threatened by Israel and American warheads. It's the whole point of NPT, the less warheads there are the less paranoid people are and the more warheads there are the more paranoid people become.
