1:09 correction, this round of conflict was started by Hamas yes. The actual war started when Israel violently colonized the region in 1948, won its wars, then rewrote history to portray itself as the victim. Hamas broke the ceasefire on October 7th, so it should be fine with the consequences, just leave the civilians out of it. For every atrocity by Hamas there is an atrocity that is 20 times worse committed by Israel. Hamas isn't innocent, but Israel sure as hell isn't either. In fact it's worse.

@sashafarber617 I was saying getting recognized doesn't necessarily give you legitimacy because both Nazi Germany and Apartheid South Africa were recognized as legitimate countries. The difference is Nazi Germany lost, Apartheid SA was dismantled while Israel continues its legacy of injustice against the indigenous people and the region because it's fully backed by the US thanks to AIPAC. What happens to Israel once AIPACs money runs out or you get politicians who refuse AIPAC money?

@sashafarber617 Palestine is literally called the occupied territories my friend. Israel declared independence on land on didn't own after the British, and UN gave a recommendation on how to share the land. They had no right to give the land away. Declaring ownership of land you don't own is called a declaration of war. The Arabs declared war in response and lost, so Israel rewrote history to its advantage and erased all its crimes from the history books. Israel launched a surprise war on 1967 based on lies (by Israel and US own assessment) in order to expand their lands. They annexed and stole territory. It's been called occupied territories since then. You're right, there's is no comparison between Ukraine and Israel because Israel is the invader. Nazi Germany and Apartheid South Africa were internationally recognized as countris as well, don't forget.

Bernie's role seems to be to collect all disidents unsatisfied with the democratic party and telling them whatever they want to hear until the final election day is close. Then he tells them what they want to hear again and tells them to fall in line and vote for the democratic party anyway. This way, he never needs to deliver on his promises and minimizes democratic voter loss. Unless pain is felt on the polls, there will never be change. Not in responsible healthcare, not in affordable education, not in livable wages, and certainly not on Gaza and Palestine.

@sashafarber617 What claim to the land? The ancestors lived there two thousand years ago? The modern day Palestinians/Syrians/Lebanese are the direct descendants of those people. They have more claim than a bunch of European colonizers. This 2000 year claim is insane. The more I think about it the less sense it makes. It's on the same level as flat earth theory. The only claim Israel had was force and being equipped with WWII veterans and the latest US/Western weaponary.

@sashafarber617 If a group comes to Israel and says their ancestors lived there 5000 years ago and predate the Jews, and therefore deserve 50% of Israel, would you give it to them? If Israel refuses, but that group declares independence anyway and places its army on Israel's land, what would happen? If that group uses excessive deadly violence to expel the people already living there, what would happen?

Bernie Sanders playbook: Step 1: Criticise the Democrats for not listening to the people. Step 2: Gather the people dissatisfied with the Democrats under your banner while playing on their emotions and promising livable wages, responsible healthcare and affordable education, but without a clear realistic way to achieve them. Step 3: Run campaigns against the Democrats to keep the voters under your control instead of having run off to Republicans or third party. Step 4: Near election day, tell your people to vote for the Democrats anyway even though they'll never give the voters what they want. Step 5: If you lose the election, get angry and tell the voters what they want to hear. Step 6: Go back to Step 1. I don't hate Bernie, but it's the same thing with him every time since 2016.

This round of conflict was started by Hamas. The attacks on the civilians is unforgivable. Yet Israel has committed - deliberately- x10 or x20 times worse crimes than Hamas ever did. However this entire conflict was started by Israel when they colonized the land, massacred the indigenous people, and then won wars and rewrote history to their advantage then treated their victims as savages. Israel established its colony in 1948. Hamas was founded in 1987 in response to the massacres and injustices against the Palestinian people. There's no Hamas in the West Bank. Yet 2021, 2022 and 2023 were the deadliest years on record for the Palestinians there. This has been ongoing for decades. This time however, everyone has cameras and Israel cant hide its crimes like the decades before.

@sashafarber617 Israel admitted in the later years that there was no risk of war. US own assessment concluded the same thing. Israel just wanted to expand its territory because it sensed weakness. Israel was deliberately violating the borders to elicit a response from its neighbors. They amassed troop to deter against this harassment. The whole 1967 war was based on a lie.
