(the root cause) Note that 'obesity' is the result of hoarding disorder (over accumulation of things or food) put in place by materialism (consumerism): [1] Lack of gratifying activities and general discouragement. [2] People give up trying to influence their environment because they have learned that they are helpless as a consequence of having no control over what happens to them (Seligman, 1974). [3] Individuals do compensate by acting ways that make them feel 'in control'. The only option under capitalism regime is consumption, which isn't satisfactory, thus closing the loop (Materialistic Obesity Syndrome: extreme greed for material gains; accumulating stuff).
