I'm almost 84 years of age, and never had an abortion, but have studied for years all the many reasons women do have abortions. As a result of that study, I conclude that judging morality itself is futile and narcissistic ... because a woman that is determined to abort, is in such a desperate frame of mind, she would rather die than proceed in the pregnancy. So, my choice is, to leave out the judgment of whether what the woman is doing is moral or immoral ... and try to make certain that she has the best medical help available to her so she can survive the abortion. When a woman is determined to abort ... the fetus will not be saved either way. And to lose the woman because she chose to abort ... well ... would THAT be a choice for a society of which to be proud? From my perspective ... it wouldn't … and that is why I am pro-choice.

@tanikanakeyalewis4202 What is your personal belief about abortion? Do you believe that women should be allowed to make their own choices ... or that men should be allowed to make the choices for them?

@VivekSmith Religion is a fantasy that gives easy answers about why humans suffer. Theologians said we suffer “because” we sinned against the will of a god. And that statement is ludicrous … because if a god existed and knew we were going to suffer because of sin ... why would the god create us so that we would be able to sin in the first place ... unless of course he was a monster? We all know instinctively that if we could create a universe ... suffering concerning any forms of life would not exist, and that only "that" plan would be perfection. I spent until I was 70 years of age confused by my religious childhood indoctrination. I am now 84 years of age and since the time I was 70 I have believed as did Stephen Hawking and others, that in one form or another the universe always existed ... no creator ... no plan ... and that suffering of all forms of life ... is natural, Because I believe that it’s the only life I will have, I try to do my best (from my perception) with this one life. I don’t know about you, but I relate to the following quote … “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle.” Author … Ian Maclaren What others believe is their right, and I wish nothing but the best for them on their individual journeys.
