Scavenger. (not in a bad way)

Between growing up in my family, and on my own, I've had over a dozen cats in/around the home over the years. I've never once thought of them as kids: they are animal companions, and we're lucky to have them.

@superbmediacontentcreator An important niche in the ecosystem...?

Beautiful story. My Trinity (RIP 🌈) was a self-rescue from my apartment back parking lot. That's what it took, almost 2 years, for her to allow touching/petting. My brother (also RIP) 'broke' her of that, I believe, by feeding her tidbits of expensive ham (😆) and gradually getting her to realize she could only eat the ham from his hand while his other hand gently pet her more & more. Then she did a 180 and became my lap/belly cuddle buddy for the rest of her life, 9 more years. When they find THEIR human, you know it.

Monkey has certainly found His human. ☺

Aww 😊. Some animals gravitate towards guys or gals more than the other, it is what it is.

Agreed. That's such an...alien...concept to me.

That was my experience with my 2 rescues. Very shy at first, then the mama (Trinity, RIP) soon became my cuddle buddy for the final 10 years of her life.

My brother (RIP), our family's personal 'cat whisperer', always reminded me that, the older they get, typically attention becomes more important than food, hehe. MK seems like she had a strong bond with someone in the past, that person passed away, and she was neglected for a time...and was finally at the point of being ready to attach to another human, the right one apparently. ☺

"The older a cat gets, the more it seems to treasure attention over food" -- my wise brother (RIP), something I've always found to be true.

That cat definitely found her human 🥰

Exactly, lol, it's like an instinctive, go-to response before he even knows what he's doing. "HISS...wait..." 😆
