What a hideous interior. Looks like a brothel.

@uploderpilot No, he was the design director at VAG group which includes Bentley, didn't mean he personally designed anything for Bentley, just means he signed them off. Likewise here, he didn't design it.

It is ghastly. Gauche, vulgar and trying too hard. Asian cars, like American cars generally make terrible interiors.

@artieartya Bentley would laugh at this wheel. It is frightfully ugly.

@uploderpilot No, you said they were designed by the same person. That isn't splitting hairs, that's a fundamental difference. Ian Callum was head of design at Ford and at Aston Martin and Jaguar, but they weren't the same products and not the same aesthetics, and so were not comparable. This German obviously did a good job at Bentley, his team, perhaps constrained by finance and an Asian mentality were less successful with the Genesis quite clearly.

@uploderpilot I'm saying that despite it having the same head of design that Bentley once had that this Genesis is ugly. Perhaps Genesis have more constraints. If you're in the market for a luxury car, why cheapen the experience by buying an Asian car for second rate luxury? It's like buying a Cayman instead of a 911.

@uploderpilot Ha ha ha. On every corner of YouTube, there are reliability obsessives. It's a moot point. Cars arent unreliable anymore, especially new ones. Hilarious you claim them to be rebadged cars when they're hand built in England. Conversely Lexus and Genesis are simply Toyota and Hyundai in a posh frock
1
@uploderpilot There's always a reliability bore around isn't there? New cars aren't unreliable.

@uploderpilot Using YouTube clichés such has "entered the chat" , "hold my beer", "be like" etc disqualifies you from commenting. If European cars are so bad, why are they sold world wide where US made and designed cars aren't sold in anything like the same quantity?

@laxmansaravanakumar8480 No, I just think that like American cars, style and design is sacrificed at the alter of saving money. Asian cars especially have a reputation for spectacularly dull interiors. It's not racist, they just in general pay less attention in interiors. Hope that clears up your misinterpretation of what I was saying.

@laxmansaravanakumar8480 You just said I was permitted a subjective opinion, but then you imply that I'm wrong about "second rate luxury" I would put Rolls, Bentley and Maybach in the luxury category, I don't think Lexus or Genesis are in that category. If you do, that's fine. I don't. It clearly wasn't racist. Asian interiors by and large like American interiors are uninspiring primarily because it's constrained by price and market demands. Lexus, Genesis, Acura etc are just bog standard Asian brands in a posh frock, hence second rate. If you want to interpret that as racist, then it simply tells me your "fauxfence" is on rather too delicate a trigger. It isn't racist to say I find Asian interiors bland, especially when I have already explained it's most likely due to budget constraints and what I meant by "Asian mentality" was that there is a difference in what constitutes luxury in our different cultures. Is it racist if I say I don't like American exterior design? because by and large I do not.

To me Asian and American cars seem to have a slightly lower definition of luxury. It's as if they're trying, but they don't quite understand the concept.
