  3.  @TootlinGeoff  How do you know? You're just surmising on behalf of your own bias. We constantly hear how much very rich people pay or have paid in tax. You just ignore it. You ought to realise that the top 10% of UK earners (those above 60k) pay 60% of UK income tax collected. They already disproportionately pay MORE THAN ENOUGH. It's also worth bearing in mind that if you don't earn 40k, you aren't earning enough to cover your state pension. So if anything, be grateful for those wealthier than you, because without them, the UK would be more fucked than it already is. Also, being a millionaire doesn't mean you are actually earning anything. If I've got 50m in the bank, I've already paid tax on that from whence I earned it, I'm not due any more just because it's in my bank account..
