No, that's nonsense.

@MyName-cw4yr Could be, could also be lightning, but these fires are deliberate. In terms of glass, it would have to be something lens shaped or spherical glass, a broken bottle wouldn't focus light to an ignition point .

Oil and Gas are 80% of our energy needs. We are diversifying our energy quicker than virtually every country, but only an idiot thinks we won't need oil and gas for decades yet.
2
@Morning404 You clearly didn't bother reading what I have written. Renewables make up 20% of our CURRENT energy demands, tje rest is made up of oil and gas and Nuclear, not to mention what is required for products from oil and gas. So please explain HOW you intend to replace oil and gas and on what timescale you intend to do it? Like most anti oil hypocrites you don't realise that your energy demand FUELS SUPPLY. You wouldn't last five minutes without oil and gas and you know that if you transitioned to renewables as you naively want to that you'd just ensure half the world went back into extreme poverty. It wouldn't make a difference to climate for hundreds of years if we stopped all CO2 tomorrow, so if it takes 60 years to phase out oil then that is what it takes.
2
@pauldog Clearly you know NOTHING about energy. We export oil because we don't have sufficient refining facilities for our own energy demands. We need to build more refineries. We import 50bn of oil and gas, and export 32bn. Imagine if we didn't have to import ANY, be better environmentally and it would be better financially.
2
Have a robust boss isn't an issue. I don't think it sounds like he did too much wrong given that 92% of the charges were thrown out. People are way too soft
2
It's only military planes with ejection
1
Of course they were, how else do you think they would start? Dry grass needs 300c to start burning.
1
Complete bollocks. You think he's that I portant that people think he needs to be silenced? He's just a conspiracy theorist nutjob with nutjob fans. He isn't important.
1
We ARE. Of all the European countries the UK is decarbonising quicker than ANY other except perhaps Denmark and Norway.
1
@laravonstaden1838 It is. These morons are naive fools. We, as a country will NEED energy from a variety of sources for DECADES. Recent events have shown us we CANNOT rely on other countries for our energy. We have no storage for renewable energy If we want to A) reduce carbon and B) be more energy self reliant why would you ever want to continue importing oil and gas?
1
Because it's the most obvious cause for her disappearance. They aren't saying she definitely did, they have said it's the focus of their enquiries.
1
Just a bunch of morons who would not last five minutes without oil and gas and would rather import it at 4X the CO2.
1
There isn't a god, certainly not one who answers prayers
1
@davidearl1973 They aren't protected from ridicule. You don't have a right not to be offended and religion and beliefs are not protected from satire, jokes or from criticism. I didn't say anything which prevented a person from holding their unjustifiable beliefs, I only said they weren't worth a cigarette end.
1
What rerouted rivers? Rhodes hardly has any, and as it's an island surrounded by sea it hardly even has a water table.
1
@raziel4435 Have you read the report and what it found? Didn't mention bullying at all.
1
Helicopters are far less safe than planes.
1
Stop making these stupid comparisons
1
Grow up. Why did Jesus let them die so horribly?
1
Sure the prayers will work, prayers always work don't they........................?
1
@solarisx444 Nonsense. There has NEVER been an instance where a prayer has been answered that is attributable to a god. Besides the repulsive bible claims that WHATEVER is prayed for in the name of Jesus will be answered. Demonstrable crap
1
@apollonia6656 You can't prove that it isn't a prayer answering ham sandwich and not a god can you? The point to believe something is when it is supported by evidence, to do so otherwise Imis called BEING GULLIBLE, and it also tells everyone that you don't care if your beliefs are true.
1
@apollonia6656 It isn't blasphemy to laugh at silly beliefs. You don't have a right for your beliefs not to be ridiculed. Your religion and your beliefs do not deserve special treatment and having a go at your religion isn't blasphemy anyway.
1
@apollonia6656 It's not the content of your belief, it's believing things which are indistinguishable from fairy tales which amuses me. Why would you believe it?
1
Maybe not, but you have poor literacy
1
He's not remotely influential. Only for incel type morons.
1
Grow up. You're not Sherlock fucking Holmes.
1
@markheitz7963 I'm not the one claiming to have the skills of a forensic psychologist like you are. The police have clearly said they are not looking for any third party involvement. All the signs point to it being a tragic accident beside a tidal stretch of river.
1
@markheitz7963 I'll come back to laugh at your absurd conclusion when she's found drowned in the river.
1
@markheitz7963 From a man that uses "Ur" I'm hardly likely to lose this one.
1
Large parts? 😂😂😂
1
@Onequietvoice It's not a "large part of the world" That doesn't even equal 0.1% of the worlds land surface. Wiildfires are frequently arson or accidental or just happen due to lightning. Fires don't start due to air temperature.
1
@Onequietvoice No, fires spread in relation to how dry the grass and other vegetation is, not air temperature Wildfires have always happened, and yes Climate Change MAY be exacerbating it, but it isn't causing wildfires. For your information the recent Greek fires were put almost entirely down to accident and arson by their very own government. Furthermore the Canada National Fire database actually shows DECREASING trend in number of fires in the last 40 years Someone stated LARGE PARTS OF THE EARTH WERE ON FIRE. I simply pointed out using statistical information that this wasn't true. There are so many more aspects to flooding than climate. I'm sorry you don't know that. I'm sorry your understanding of hydrology is so poor. Also, do you think Greenland has no vegetation? You not naive? You actually think it's ice all year round?
1
You have a psychic feeling have you? Bullshit.
1
@LeeeRoyyyHD The simplest explanation is "usually" the one most likely to have happened. There is no evidence of an abduction, assault, kidnap, murder, suicide, planned disappearance, so the chances are most likely drowning is the most obvious explanation. I wasn't doubting your explanation, I was questioning the OP claim of something sinister.
1
Give an example of any such policy.
1
@CroninMusicLtd Which one of those are Sunak policies? Did you moan similarly when Gordon Brown didn't have a mandate to be PM? How will new oil not provide any income? Ha ha ha. You'd have thousands of people paying tax at high levels for a start, plus oil companies pay between 40-80% tax. We import 50bn of oil and gas right now and we export 32bn, so we are losing 18bn. We export because we don't have sufficient refining capacity at present so we need to build more of them. Instead of having to import oil and gas which has had to be refined, as well as transport costs, and pipeline fees, we could buy our own oil and gas at market rates (as all countries do) which would be cheaper, and more environmentally friendly than importing. If we produce more oil and gas and build more refineries you have a greater domestic supply, more control and it is cheaper. We NEED oil and gas, and we will do for decades, only a moron thinks otherwise. Sunak didn't prorogue Parliament.
1
These fires were ARSON, governments don't "dig up" fossil fuels, commercial companies explore, drill and produce oil and gas to meet YOUR INSATIABLE DEMAND. You wouldn't last five minutes without oil and gas, but never mind blame someone else.
1
Yeah, prayers will really help.
1
What are you basing that on. It's Occam's razor.
