I didn't say anything which prevented a person from holding their unjustifiable beliefs, I only said they weren't worth a cigarette end.

There is no evidence of an abduction, assault, kidnap, murder, suicide, planned disappearance, so the chances are most likely drowning is the most obvious explanation. I wasn't doubting your explanation, I was questioning the OP claim of something sinister.
