@josiepkat People DO NOT need that. The best countries to live in within the developed world are the countries which are LEAST religious. Places like Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark rank consistently HIGHER than more religious countries and have lower rates of crime and better rates of societal health and higher standards of living. The world is not a better place due to religion or religious beliefs.

The entire British Isles has been formed on the basis of conflict, immigration and invasion. So what is English when it is a mix of French, Roman and Viking among others?

The bible isn't a source, it's a claim, and as already stated no one bothered to write about jesus during his life, and nor did anyone who ever met him wrote about him. If it's so distinct you should be able to cite examples of being English that only apply to the English otherwise if it's shared with other people's in Britain then it isn't English is it? I agree there's a British ethnicity, I don't think there's really a Welsh, Scottish or English ethnicity because we all share the same heritage and culture.
