@phily8093 I don't get the pronoun insistence. If I'm talking to someone then a *pronoun" is a superfluous thing. There may be genuine "trans" people but I think it is a miniscule number. Perhaps 1 in 10,000. You're absolutely right there are far too many on a band wagon judging by the absurdly lopsided generational adherents or celebrity child adherents.

@phily8093 I know it's not compulsory, I just wanted to know what you disagreed on, and I'm not sure you gave any decent examples You said some topics, but not where in those topics you disagree. We pretty much all disagree on topics at some point on the scale or spectrum, and saying she goes a little too far to the right doesn't really explain any further, because saying someone is "far right" has just become a bit of a lazy trope. You said for example "the trans issue". What about her views do you disagree? I don't think she's said anything controversial on that particular issue, so I'd be interested to hear what your views are and actually what you disagree on.

So far you've presented no evidence a god exists, and nothing at all that would even suggest that it is possible let alone likely. I have answered all your questions. We do not, never have and never will require a god to arrive at a moral outcome. For example, I can name you multiple repulsive things in the bible that you couldn't possibly find to be moral, yet the bible condones, commands or approves of them. Is the bible not the word of your god? You believe something indistinguishable from a fairy tale, and just as you can't convince anyone a fairy tale is true, you can't do that with your infantile belief in a god either. Does a god exists? Perhaps, just like Santa Claus might exist, but until we are presented with evidence, how could you possibly hold a belief in one, even a deistic one?

People might claim to have reasons, bit of they had a reason, they wouldn't say they had faith. Faith tells you nothing. If you have a good reason to believe in a god, you give the reason, you don't hide behind crap like "personal relationships with God" or nonsense like that. Just as there is no reason to believe in Santa Claus, Universe creating pixies or Leprechauns there is no reason to believe in a god either. How did you determine a god was not just another man made story? What mechanism did you use when there is no evidence for a god? What mechanism did you use to reject all the other gods you don't believe in? How do you determine yours is true, and the others aren't? You can't do any of that without evidence, and that means you don't even care if your beliefs are true, which is laughable.

@charlesd4572 You're trying to use my experience of things happening through experience in my life as something which is also applicable to a god. First prove that a god exists. Then we can move on. Faith, which is what you have for god, is the excuse people give when they don't have a good reason to believe, if you have a good reason you give that. I don't have faith the bus will come, I have a reasonable expectation based on a timetable and having been on the bus many times, doesn't mean it will come, but I can reasonably expect it to. What have you got like that for god? Why would you believe something which has no evidence? And if you do believe something without evidence, how can you prove it to be true? Don't you care?

@charlesd4572 The problem is you are seeing things we hold JUSTIFIED beliefs based on a reasonable expectation for on an equal footing with a preposterous claim on a supernatural deity for which we have no justification to have ANY expectation. You're making a false equivalence and you don't even realise. It is perfectly reasonable to expect that a bus will come, it is not remotely reasonable to either put belief on a god as the same thing, or to hold a belief in a god. You don't seem to understand that beliefs hold different thresholds, for example if you tell me you have a dog, I don't need much evidence to believe you, if you were to claim you believed in a god, I require a higher threshold. It's very simple stuff, but just as you'd laugh at an adult for believing in Santa Claus, you ought to have similar ridicule for believing in a god.

If you tell me you have a dog, my threshold for believing that claim is low because dog ownership is common, dogs exist, I can see evidence of shit in your garden or hair on your shirt, however if you tell me that you have a pink dog which only appears when you are alone I require a higher standard of evidence for that because we have no evidence that invisible pink dogs exist. If you tell me you have £100 in your wallet, it might be likely, but until you show it to me, I won't believe you. That is a rational position. However let's say I buy a car. I can TEST the claims made by the manufacturer. There is EVIDENCE which supports the claims they make. People believe religious beliefs for BAD reasons. Either they have been brought up to believe it, have been indoctrinated into it, forced into it, or are just gullible. No one believes in god because they have evidence which supports it.

@charlesd4572 Of course every human being is entitled to not have theft or violence against them. That doesn't come from a god does it? The bible doesn't contain any moral law or pronouncement that is unique to the bible and biblical morality in many ways is considered to be IMMORAL by standards of the last 1000 years. There is nothing moral in any religion which originated in that religion, which makes religious pronouncements on morals to be moot. Morals come from the society we live in, it's why morals have changed over time, culture and space.

Human rights are subjective and based on society, it's why even US and UK have different human rights and different morals. These don't come from, and are not contingent on any religion or any god, especially as we now find the bible to be a deeply immoral book full of reprehensible and disgusting commands. If morals came from a god or a book, all countries would follow the same moral teachings over time. Can you name any moral guidance that originated in religion? No, you can't, so not only can you not prove a god exists, can't give a good reason for believing in one, you actually can't justify what makes a religion worthwhile in the first place when there's nothing good done by religion, that can't be done without it.

I don't have to disprove your claim, the burden of proof is on you. Did you have to disprove the religions you reject? No. I simply said no evidence exists for your position, and you predictably can't provide any, so what worth are your beliefs? Nothing.

I didn't say there wasn't a god, I simply said there's no evidence for one, and your failure to provide any tells me all I need to know about your position. If you don't have evidence to hold a belief it tells me you don't care if your beliefs are true, and who wants to believe things that have no evidence?

@mjfraser04 exactly, they're complete mugs. They have no evidence a god exists, but they pretend to know what it wants us to do and who we can sleep with and in what position. How is that possible?
