@nicovansimpsen5120 The UK is not (and nor are any other European countries) socislist. We simply have a different way of paying for our health care. Out health service costs half as much as the US one, but is regarded as being twice as good. Of course it could be better, but I'd rather have it than the US version where you get charged to have a baby or call an ambulance.

@nicovansimpsen5120 That's bullshit. The average person in Belgium does not pay 70% tax or anywhere near it. Your absolute top earners might but most do not. Average tax is 42% in Belgium.

@nicovansimpsen5120 No you don't on average pay 70% You haven't worked it out properly. Tax on income is on average 42% in Belgium , 1% more than I pay in the UK. I also pay VAT at 20%, that doesn't mean I pay 62% tax because I don't pay 42% on everything I earn, and neither do you. You pay 52% on an amount ABOVE a certain figure. Your tax rates vary between 25% and 50% based on what proportion of your salary falls within that area. For example on your first 13,250 you pay 25%, from 13-23.5k it is 40%, etc. You only pay 50% on earnings above €40,480 Furthermore VAT isn't applied to every good, so you aren't paying 20% on everything you buy either, and as you already said it varies between 6 and 20%

@nicovansimpsen5120 Why don't you move to a country in Europe other than Belgium where you pay less tax then? By the way, you won't end up much better in America as you have state taxes, federal taxes, sales tax and have to pay massive amounts for insurance and health care that cost virtually nothing in Europe. Lots of the costs in America aren't up front and they have truly laughable holiday entitlement and absolutely disgraceful employment law. The grass isn't always greener. You won't be able to go to America either unless you can take a business over there above a certain size/income or unless you work for already work for a company who can arrange a sponsorship/work visa for you but as you're self employed that isn't a route open to you.

@nicovansimpsen5120 The EU is not moving anything like towards communism. If you can aim that then you have no idea whatsoever what communism actually is. The USA is nowhere near being the best country in the world, and like I have already said the chances of you ever getting to live there are incredibly slim unless you have a ton of money to take over or can be sponsored to go there.

Fox news needs to look up what socialism is. A national health system isn't socialist.
