@jbaker0203 I said EV cars from Europe.
This equates to 1% of global Co2. EV makers concede that depending on your grid you need to drive an EV 30,000-70,000km to break even.
Even if you took all cars of European roads now, you'd not see a reduction in CO2 until they'd all done this mileage.
I get a new car before its reached this level, so I will never own a car more clean than a normal car on this basis.
I'm not a denier, I'm just realistic that governments and activists are attacking things which contribute far less to environmental damage than others.
Planes and cars seem an easy target because there are visible emissions.
Global air travel is 2% of global Co2, same as running the Internet, yet you don't hear people protest against the Internet do you?
Why aren't they demanding changes in industry, construction, heating, cooling etc?
The lack of consistency in the argument is the problem and the rampant hypocrisy of campaigners is the problem.
