@cristopherfrakes1416 I'd probably still like it, but my imagination in childhood saw the film differently from how I see it now. Certain things, such as the rubbish disposal unit with the monster in it were genuinely scary to me, whereas now I'd see that scene has being comedic rather than tense.

The trouble with Star Wars is that it's nostalgia from our childhood. They were films created primarily to be consumed by children and families. We are no longer children, so naturally new films created for far younger people aren't going to appeal to us anymore. I think they've fucked it up, but modern Star Wars aren't for our demographic.

@justinsayin3979 I don't know, I'm not a child and don't have any, but one thing I know is that it's not aimed at adults.

@cristopherfrakes1416 I agree that is an issue, but I really don't think Star Wars without nostalgia is anything other than a children's film. It is a U after all. I love lots of films with a nostalgia link, eh The Goonies but if they came out now, I'd be aware they aren't aimed at the age I am now.

@cristopherfrakes1416 You get my point though right? If Star Wars came out today without having any knowledge or nostalgia about it, would it interest you so much? Not sure it would. Don't get me wrong, I think Disney are a dog's dinner, but I think we are also not taking into account that our nostalgia can't carry an ongoing film series when it is so far from the original and what we associate with it. I'm the same with Bond films. I'm not interested in the shitty Craig films.
