@damarh Ha ha ha, what a simplistic argument. If you pay your workers more and DON'T increase what they sell their produce for then they can't sell their produce, so it's been picked and will still rot. Supermarkets dictate what they will buy at, and consumers dictate what price they want to pay in the supermarket. Would you pay 75p for a red pepper instead of 50p. Yes, but imagine you were doing the same for apples, carrots, potatoes, raspberries etc. Then you might think of something a bit better than your infantile 6th form argument.
