@GreatName707 If they wanted to make a bog standard car like a Corolla, spend more on the car and less on stupid acceleration. Even the Corolla is better looking. Maybe im harsh on Tesla as the majority of American designed things look shit, especially cars.

@victorstewart395 I think they are decent cars, but to suggest they are stillb miles ahead and the default choice is just a lie. If anything other makers are usurping Tesla. I'm not against Tesla per se, I'm against their lack of effort in design and build quality. There are plenty other good options out there. You could have Polestar 2, Kia EV6, Genesis GV60, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Porsche Taycan, Jag Ipace, Audi Etron, BMW Ix3, Volvo C30, BMW i4, VW Id5 GTX, Skoda Enyaq, Mustang Mach E, Merc EQ, Fisker Ocean etc. All more interesting than Tesla and plenty others in pipeline.

@victorstewart395 Being a start up is absolutely no excuse these days. There are plenty of start ups making cars that seems to be higher quality and finish, it's just the way of backward America to design cheapness into products. Furthermore virtually no one drives a significant amount every day and other manufacturers will soon be able to use super chargers whilst 150kw+ chargers are popping up everywhere so range isn't an issue either. Really Tesla doesn't do that much any better, is still laughably expensive for a car that looks not much better than a 20k Ford Focus . The Model Y looks like Stevie Wonder designed it, doesn't look good from any angle, whilst Tesla do the most boring wheels and steering wheels in the entire industry. ALL car makers have a delay at the moment, even Tesla, and the reasons are well documented. Look at the Tesla website for delivery dates. It's a LOOOONG time too. I've actually driven a few electric cars including a Tesla Model 3 performance, and whilst it was laughably fast, didn't excite me to be in or look at. The Polestar I drove felt like an event, the Tesla felt like a car for people who have no imagination .

@victorstewart395 Christ, I know Americans think in literal fashion. Can't I express an opinion without having to add "in my opinion" to every statement? Have some nuance. Your claim they were a startup and a newcomer were claims you had to back up from. I didn't call them trash did I? They constantly rank near the bottom on JD Power for quality issues.

@victorstewart395 I did get your point about startups. I wasn't referring to top end cars like Lucid or Rimac, there are plenty others like Fisker, Alpha and a bundle of Chinese ones, besides Tesla has been around since about 2007 and is supported by more money than any car maker like Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, BMW etc, they simply can't use that as an excuse. The Tesla S is yet another dreary design, blatantly derivative of the 2008 Jaguar XF. Tesla delays are also due to chip shortages and issues with Chinese supply of other components. They have loads of factories so not being able to make them quick enough isn't an excuse either. People have always bought boring cars to look at, look at the entire US or Asian production. No style and no soul. It's not a reason to keep selling shit, outdated designs is it?

@victorstewart395 Mate, Tesla isn't a start up. It hasn't been since BEFORE the Model S. It's had cars in production for the best part of two decades. I realise you live in America where you are quite backwards in regards to the cars you get over there, but I don't think you realise how many more options are available here. It isn't my opinion that Tesla's are crap, need I remind you that I have driven them and you by your own admission can't afford one. My issue is that they are DREARY design, typicslly poor American quality control and that utter twat Elon Musk is the boss.

@victorstewart395 It's not a newcomer either. It's a well established brand by now. The point is that it defines American laziness. Poor design and build quality. It's only doing well because it got there first. Time will tell in a few years. Other companies are already building far nicer cars.

@victorstewart395 I'm not even really disagreeing, but you are making claims about Tesla that you're having to back out of. My beef about Tesla is that if I spend £52,000 on a car I don't want it to look like it's 20k and put together badly. Tesla is like a lot of things, it's made for the person with zero emotion or interest in cars, but that's mass market appeal isn't it? Just like people buy a 911 as a sportscar, a Range Rover as an SUV, or a Ford F150 as a pickup, it's the boring choice for the unimaginative Nothing wrong with Tesla, I just want to spend my money on something that excites me in ALL ways, and sitting in it, looking at it, doesn't match it's one good point, it's speed.

@MSIContent The problem with Tesla is dreary they are in terms of design and that wanker Elon Musk owns them . Tesla make a perfectly adequate car, bit it doesn't excite me to look at it. It's bog standard American design laziness.
