Japanese switchgear is just inexcusably cheap. It's one of the many reasons why the likes of Lexus are in the sub luxury category for me.

@AnyoneSeenMikeHunt Yes. Can't think of any Japanese or indeed Asian car that isn't incredibly corner cutting on switchgear. It's always very low rent.

@AnyoneSeenMikeHunt American and Asian cars have the cheapest and dreariest interiors which is why I think both regions fail on truly getting the meaning of luxury. It seems they just use the same parts bin as you'd get with a base model in a car range. I get this car is 20 years old, but they're just corner cutting in my opinion. Really ghastly plastic.
